To say that 2021 has been a turbulent year for businesses would be an understatement. Around the country, Australian businesses of every size and type have been challenged by the ongoing global pandemic and have pivoted their operations to suit changing market conditions.

GPsupport was honoured to deliver outstanding outcomes for clients in Australia’s healthcare sector despite many challenges. Here are three lessons that 2021 reaffirmed for us, along with some insights we’ll be carrying into the New Year:

1. Cloud-based healthcare is the future

At GPsupport, we were proud to have helped healthcare professionals across the country to provide ongoing patient care throughout the pandemic. In 2021 alone, our team rebuilt over 30 clinical IT environments to provide new and existing clients with remote work capabilities – a terrific result achieved despite the challenges presented by prolonged lockdown periods, supply chain disruptions, and more.

Our clinic in the cloud solutions became a lifeline for doctors, administrators, and patients alike. We empowered healthcare professionals to move away from outdated on-site infrastructure and instead, introduced enterprise-grade software in the form of a fully secured cloud-based environment that gives secure access to clinical data anywhere, anytime.

Cloud-based clinical data will help to future-proof the Australian healthcare industry. It’s our goal to ensure that doctors can continue providing essential services (such as telehealth and telemedicine) no matter the circumstances.

2. Relationships are (still) the heart of our business

GPsupport has over a decade of proven experience in offering quality IT solutions for the Australian healthcare sector. We believe that maintaining positive relationships with clients and suppliers has always been the key to our success.

In 2021 for example, worldwide supply chain disruptions meant that specific hardware was hard to come by. The strong rapport we’ve built over the past twelve years became a major asset in this scenario, as we needed those existing relationships to ensure stock would be available for our healthcare clients.

At GPsupport, people are at the heart of everything we do. Our approach offers security, control, ease, and peace of mind that help clinicians to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

3. Look after your team, and they’ll look after you

It was Richard Branson who first said, “If you look after your staff well, they will look after your customers.” This simple statement is what we practice at GPsupport. We grew by 30% over the last year, despite widespread nationwide skill shortages.

Our remarkable team adapted quickly to work from home arrangements and embraced a larger, newly refurbished office upon their return. We are extremely proud of the culture of excellence and commitment that helps to define GPsupport. If agility was the theme of 2021, we believe that continued growth will be the theme of 2022.

A big thank you to the staff, clients, suppliers, and friends that helped make 2021 a year to remember. We’re wishing you all a very safe and happy holiday period, and here’s to a bright 2022!
